Leadership Michigan Now Accepting Nominations for the Distinguished Leadership Award, Michigan Chamber Foundation Announces

LANSING, Mich.

Leadership Michigan, a program of the Michigan Chamber Foundation, is now accepting nominations for its Distinguished Leadership Award. Established in 2005, the Distinguished Leadership Award is the highest award given by Leadership Michigan. This premier award honors individuals who have demonstrated excellence in leadership and exemplify the goals and aspirations of Leadership Michigan.

  Candidates are evaluated on the following:
  1. Leadership Qualities - Distinguishing leadership characteristics the
     nominee possesses, which are the foundation for their approach to
     leadership.
  2. Achievement - How the nominee has demonstrated exceptional leadership
     in both professional and civic activities, which has resulted in a
     significant impact at the local, regional and/or state level.
  3. Vision - How the nominee has demonstrated the ability to create and
     articulate a vision, elevate awareness and build consensus (effect
     change).
  4. Develops Others - How the nominee promotes community involvement and
     contributes to the development of future leaders.

  The submission deadline for nominations is August 15, 2007.

The award recipient will be honored at Leadership Michigan's Annual Leadership Dinner on Thursday, October 25, 2007 at the Air Zoo in Kalamazoo. Previous recipients of the award include James C. Epolito, President and CEO of the Michigan Economic Development Corporation (2005) and Patrick L. Anderson, Principal and CEO of Anderson Economic Group, an East Lansing-based consulting firm with expertise in economics, finance, market research and public policy (2006).
