"Burl Adkins is a candidate of the highest quality," said Michigan Chamber President and CEO James Barrett. "He is pro-business, pro-jobs and pro-taxpayer. His position on the issues, his deep commitment to helping the people in his district and his business experience will make him a great State Representative."

Adkins is challenging the incumbent State Representative who is seeking re-election but only scored a 44% on the Michigan Chamber's Job Providers Index and was absent much of the time.

The 23rd House District includes the townships of Brownstown, Grosse Ile and Huron and the cities of Flat Rock, Gibraltar, Rockwood, Trenton, Woodhaven and a portion of Taylor in southern Wayne County.

"Job providers here and across the state look to the Michigan Chamber as a leading voice on business issues," said Adkins. "I am pleased to receive their endorsement and their confidence."

The Michigan Chamber of Commerce represents approximately 7,000 businesses, local chambers of commerce, and trade associations. With members of every size and type in all 83 Michigan counties, the Michigan Chamber represents a broad cross-section of the state's economy.
