Call For Nominations: Michigan Distinguished Leadership Award
PRNewswire
LANSING, Mich.

Nominations are being accepted through August 10th for the first-ever Distinguished Leadership Award.

The Distinguished Leadership Award was established this year by the Michigan Chamber Foundation's Leadership Michigan program. It honors individuals who have demonstrated excellence in leadership and exemplify the goals and aspirations of Leadership Michigan.

Citizens from across Michigan are encouraged to nominate someone worthy of this honor and provide them with the opportunity to be recognized for their achievements in leadership. The nominee needs to be a resident of Michigan and have demonstrated: (1) exceptional leadership qualities; (2) achievement in both professional and civic activities at the local, regional and/or state level; (3) the ability to create and articulate a vision and affect change; and (4) significant contribution to the development of future leaders.

"We are very excited to be able to recognize outstanding achievement in leadership and to also provide an example of what excellence in leadership means," said Aimee Bahs, Director of the Leadership Michigan program. "We aren't necessarily looking for someone that has achieved fame, but someone that has made a difference in our state through their vision and ability to make things happen. The recipient chosen this first year by the nominating committee will really set the bar for future years, so we urge everyone to consider submitting a nomination."

The crystal award will be presented to the recipient at the Annual Leadership Dinner on Thursday, October 20, 2005 at The Henry Ford Eagle Tavern in Greenfield Village from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. Anthony Earley, Jr., CEO of DTE Energy is the keynote speaker.
