The Michigan Chamber of Commerce announced today that Barry Robinson has joined the statewide business organization as Vice President of Chamber Services and Membership Development.

Barry Robinson comes to the Michigan Chamber from the Small Business Association of Michigan (SBAM) where he served as Vice President of Sales and Marketing since 2004. Barry is a 1983 graduate of Michigan State University, where he earned a BA in Marketing. He and his family reside in Perry.

“We are very pleased to welcome Barry to the Michigan Chamber’s leadership team,” said Michigan Chamber President & CEO Rich Studley. “With his 23 years of experience in sales and marketing and business development, both in the non-profit association and for-profit business environments, we are confident Barry will hit the ground running and be a strong addition to the Chamber staff.”

Robinson replaces Jock Aikman, who retired.

In addition to being one of the largest state chambers in the country, the Michigan Chamber’s service corporation provides a full range of member benefits – from business brokerage and insurance to seminars and publications.

The Michigan Chamber of Commerce is a statewide business organization representing approximately 6,800 employers, trade associations and local chambers of commerce. The Michigan Chamber represents businesses of every size and type in all 83 counties of the state. The Chamber was established in 1959 to be an advocate for Michigan’s job providers in the legislative, political and legal process. It is one of only four state chambers of commerce in the nation accredited by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce.
