The Honorable J.C. Watts, an ordained minister and former U.S. Congressman from Oklahoma, will be the featured speaker at the Michigan Prayer Breakfast which will be held on May 13th from 7:30 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. at the Kellogg Center in East Lansing.
Mr. Watts first became known as an outstanding quarterback that led the University of Oklahoma to two Orange Bowl victories. After a pro-football career, he became an ordained minister and then a four-term U.S. Congressman.
The 18th Annual Amy Writing Award will also be presented at the breakfast. The first place award of $10,000 will go to the winner of what is now acclaimed as the most popular writing contest in the nation. Kathy Brooks, of the Amy Foundation, will present the award.
