The Michigan Chamber of Commerce announced today that Scott Romney, son of former Governor George Romney and candidate for the Michigan State University Board of Trustees, has received its endorsement for the 2000 election. Romney was appointed by Governor John Engler on August 15, 2000 to fill the vacancy created by Bob Traxler's resignation.

"Scott Romney will be an excellent Trustee for Michigan State University," said Michigan Chamber President & CEO James Barrett. "His public service, dedication to the community and commitment to higher education make him the best candidate for the job."
