Wendy Hofmeyer has joined the Michigan Chamber of Commerce's Business Advocacy Team as Director of Health Policy & Human Resources. As a full-time lobbyist for the statewide business organization, Hofmeyer will be responsible for handling a wide range of key issues, such as health care cost containment, insurance, unemployment insurance, mandated benefits, and workers' compensation. Hofmeyer will be responsible for staffing the Chamber's policy committee on Health & Human Resources.

Hofmeyer holds a B.A. degree in Political Science from Loyola University in Chicago. She most recently served as education policy advisor to the Michigan House of Representatives. For two years (2001-2003), Hofmeyer served as a policy advisor on education, insurance and financial services to the Speaker of the House. Prior to that she served as a legislative aide to State Representative Andrew Richner (1999-2001) and as an aide to State Senator Leon Stille (1998-1999).

The Michigan Chamber is a statewide business organization representing approximately 6,300 employers, trade associations and local chambers of Commerce. The Michigan Chamber was established in 1959 to be an advocate for Michigan's job providers in the legislative, political and legal process.
