LANSING, Mich., Feb. 17, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- The Michigan Chamber of Commerce today expressed appreciation and support for the U.S. Chamber for the voter education ad which is now airing in Congressman Fred Upton's 6th Congressional District in Southwest Michigan.
"The U.S. Chamber has launched a multistate television ad and grassroots communications blitz in 12 congressional districts, including Fred Upton's district," said Michigan Chamber President & CEO Rich Studley. "The Michigan Chamber actively supports this early and aggressive election year move.
"We strongly agree with U.S. Chamber President & CEO Tom Donohue that America's and Michigan's families deserve to know who has the courage to fight for job-creating policies in Washington, D.C.," added Studley. "For over 100 years, the U.S. Chamber has been standing up for American Enterprise, and for over 20 years, Congressman Fred Upton has been standing up for conservative principles and Michigan's job providers.
"In the 2012 election, jobs and the economy will be a key issue," noted Studley. "It's crucial that voters hear the voice of business – America's job creators – throughout this year.
"The U.S. Chamber ad reminds employees and employers in Michigan's 6th Congressional District that Fred Upton voted "No" on Obamacare and has consistently opposed job-killing tax hikes and wasteful spending at a time when Michigan voters are increasingly concerned about over regulation and over spending by the federal government," added Studley.
"The Michigan Chamber will continue to work closely with the U.S. Chamber as we inform Michigan voters of where members of our Congressional Delegation stand on free enterprise and related issues," Studley concluded.
The U.S. Chamber ad is posted on YouTube and may be viewed here. On January 19th, the Michigan Chamber launched a TV spot encouraging Fred Upton. That ad is available on the Michigan Chamber's YouTube page and may be viewed here.
